University of the Sacred Heart Gulu welcomes New Students Cohort August 2025 with Orientation
Gulu,UgandaUniversity of the Sacred Heart Gulu launched its academic year 2025/2026 with a comprehensive orientation program for new students. This blended event hosted both on-campus and virtually attracted all the newly admitted students in both postgraduate and undergraduate programs offered in the university.
Thomas Benard Omony, the Assistant Academic Registrar (Admissions and Student Affairs) while delivering the opening address, thanked the students for making a perfect choice by choosing to study at University of the Sacred Heart Gulu. He urged students to note that joining a university is like starting a new life and journey of self-reliance, self-discovery and self-destiny which will ultimately shape their outlook in the long run. Mr. Thomas further noted that the University has put in place neccesary facilities, qualified academic staff annd support systems which enables effective and holistic teaching and learning.
While addressing the students, USHG Vice Chancellor Rev. Fr. Dr. Jino O Mwaka congratulated the new students upon their admission and choosing USHG as part of their growth. He placed emphasis on USHG vision, Mission and its core values as the identity that shapes the University. Fr. Jino informed the students that they are joining the University to accompany them in their journey to connect the dots. He urged students to commit themselves and have responsibilities in their journey. Finally, he encouraged students to contribute to shaping what USHG becomes in the future.
